YMCA National Judicial Competition (NJC)

In 2017, Louisiana was honored to send our first delegation to the 6th National Judicial Competition (NJC), sponsored by the Y-USA and the American Bar Association. NJC is a chance for Y&G participants to expand on the legal issues they explore in Louisiana's state sessions and to meet fantastic delegate from other Y&G programs across the nation. This conference tests their speaking and rhetoric skills. Delegates work in groups to prepare speeches and arguments - they face competition from more than 300 Y&G participants from around the country. Delegates can choose between involvement in Mock Trial (criminal court) or a Model US Supreme Court (appellate court) - both of which involve intense preparation for exciting legal cases.
